Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to join the Emergency Department team in Guernsey. This permanent, full-time role offers the chance to work within a modern healthcare environment where patient care and professional development are highly valued. You will play a key leadership role within the Emergency Department, supporting the delivery of high-quality care while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the continuous improvement of clinical services.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes for individuals with complex care needs

Lead and support a team of healthcare professionals in emergency and acute care situations

Take charge of the Emergency Department when required and support service coordination

Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care

Mentor, supervise, and support junior staff and students to promote professional development

Participate in clinical audits, risk assessments, and quality improvement initiatives

Promote evidence-based practice and maintain high standards of clinical governance
Essential Requirements

Registered Nurse qualification

Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or eligibility to register

Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at Diploma level
-
Minimum of two years’ recent experience working within an Emergency Care setting
-
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
Desirable Criteria

European Paediatric Advanced Life Support (EPALS) Provider
-
Advanced Life Support (ALS) Provider
-
Trauma Intermediate Life Support (TILS) certification

Mentorship or teaching qualification
