What you will do:

• Perform microbiological analysis on a wide range of clinical samples to support diagnosis and treatment

• Ensure all testing complies with quality assurance and laboratory standards

• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate calibration and functionality

• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support effective patient care

• Support and supervise junior staff and students, contributing to training and development

Requirements:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Biomedical Science

• HCPC registration

• Minimum of two years’ experience in microbiology

• Competence in microtomy

• Strong understanding of laboratory quality standards and procedures

Applicants must be HCPC registered with proven experience working within a microbiology laboratory. A driving licence is desirable, supporting ease of travel where required. You should be confident working independently while contributing effectively within a team-based laboratory environment.
