Working 12-hour shifts from 10:00 to 22:00, seven days a week, you will play a crucial role in supporting patient flow and delivering high-quality care within urgent care services.

What you will do

  • Register, assess, and triage patients arriving by ambulance.
  • Utilise National Acuity Scoring tools to support clinical decision-making.
  • Identify urgent clinical needs and prioritise patient flow accordingly.
  • Direct patients to the most appropriate clinical area for assessment and treatment.
  • Work closely with ambulance crews and Emergency Department teams.
  • Support compliance with patient handover and sign-off processes.
  • Escalate capacity and demand pressures when necessary.
  • Contribute to safe and effective patient flow within urgent care services.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
  • Assist in the delivery of a responsive and efficient emergency care service.

Requirements

  • HCPC Registration: Current registration as a Paramedic with the HCPC.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years' frontline Paramedic experience.
  • NHS Background: Previous experience working with an NHS provider.
  • Clinical Assessment Skills: Strong patient assessment and triage experience.
  • Acuity Scoring Knowledge: Familiarity with National Acuity Scoring tools.
  • Decision-Making Ability: Ability to identify urgent clinical needs and make informed decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Working: Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Urgent Care Experience: Experience working within busy urgent or emergency care settings.
