What you will do

Prepare staining and cover-slipping machines daily, managing solvents and stains in line with the SOP
Maintain and troubleshoot minor faults in staining and cover-slipping machines
Assess the quality of staining and cover-slipping through observation
Clean slides before digitalisation and maintain interaction with digital scanners, including basic cleaning and maintenance
Produce slide labels and update them via computer as needed
Organise slides by urgency, checking slide numbers and sorting them accordingly
File blocks numerically and verify names on cassettes
Collect blocks from embedding centres and cross-check them against forms
Remove excess wax from cassettes for seamless microtome cassette holder fitting
