An exciting locum opportunity has arisen for an experienced A&E Nurse to join a fast-paced Accident & Emergency Department in Ashford. Job Purpose

As an A&E Nurse, you will deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care to patients presenting with acute illness and injury. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while working in accordance with Trust policies, NMC standards, and best clinical practice.


Key Responsibilities

As an A&E Nurse, you will:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care within the A&E department.

  • Undertake rapid assessment and triage in line with clinical priority and urgency.

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care in accordance with Trust policies and NMC standards.

  • Monitor patients closely and respond promptly to signs of deterioration.

  • Safely administer medications and carry out clinical procedures such as cannulation and wound care.

  • Support emergency resuscitation and participate in major incident responses where required.

  • Work collaboratively with doctors, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records.

  • Support and mentor student nurses and newly qualified staff as appropriate.


Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration

  • Previous experience working in an A&E or acute emergency setting

  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
