What you will do:
- Conduct specialist assessments of children and young people with SEND, determining necessary educational provisions to support their learning and development.
- Offer guidance, coaching, and training for teachers to develop suitable curricula, alongside innovative, evidence-based teaching strategies tailored to your area of expertise.
- Provide high-quality, evidence-led specialist teaching, aligned with the Specialist Inclusion Team’s priorities.
- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with schools and educational settings, enhancing their capability to address the needs of SEND students.
- Regularly monitor and review the implementation of recommended strategies and curricula to ensure schools are progressing effectively.
- Support and train SEND Specialist Caseworkers, facilitating their success in delivering ongoing casework across schools.
- Participate in Education, Health and Care assessments and reviews as stipulated by the SEND Regulations 2014.
- Engage with colleagues, parents, and the community to ensure comprehensive and cohesive strategies for student support.

Requirements:
You must have Qualified Teacher Status and a post-graduate mandatory qualification in Vision Impairment. A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential. We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience in identifying and assessing children and young people with Multiple Sensory Impairments (MSI) or SEND, alongside exemplary teaching practices in inclusive educational environments. A deep understanding of the National Curriculum and experience in curriculum development and adaptation for SEND is crucial to this role.
