Account Manager
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday-Friday (9am - 5pm)
Location: Stoke-On-Trent

• Hybrid working, with travel to Bradford approximately every 2 weeks

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an Account Manager to join a growing team and manage a portfolio of customers, developing strong and lasting relationships while identifying opportunities for business growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing existing accounts, developing new business opportunities and ensuring customer requirements are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of accounts, including major national retailers and their suppliers
• Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
• Provide excellent levels of customer service at all times
• Manage the successful transition of new business into ongoing work
• Identify opportunities to provide additional value-added services to customers
• Develop new business opportunities and create compelling commercial propositions
• Present proposals to customers in a persuasive and collaborative manner
• Confirm customer briefs and maintain regular communication to understand current and future requirements
• Prepare and submit quotations and follow through to secure customer orders
• Monitor and deliver financial KPIs, including sales and profitability targets
• Ensure customer briefs are fully tracked from booking through to invoicing
• Monitor outstanding invoices and communicate overdue payments to customers where required
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer databases
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure projects and customer requirements are delivered effectively
• Identify opportunities for operational and process improvements
• Provide support to other members of the Account Management team when required
• Work with the line manager to identify and develop new and existing business opportunities
• Provide regular updates and reports on account performance, upcoming projects, actions and opportunities
• Support continuous improvement across the business
• Follow all relevant company procedures, quality systems and operating standards
• Carry out any other reasonable duties required within the role

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in Account Management, Customer Management or a similar commercial role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong negotiating and influencing abilities
• A customer-focused and consultative approach
• The ability to build trust, rapport and strong long-term customer relationships
• A proactive can-do attitude, with the drive and determination to deliver results
• The ability to understand customer needs and develop practical, commercially focused solutions
• Strong commercial and financial awareness, with the ability to work towards budgets and performance targets
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Exceland general IT systems
• The confidence to communicate with customers and stakeholders at a senior level
• Previous experience working with major retailers or within an account management environment would be advantageous
