As the sole Neurologist, you will work alongside a dedicated team of 15 consultant colleagues, benefiting from the support of a teaching hospital neurology service, currently provided by University Hospital Southampton. What you will do:
- Conduct thorough assessments of neurology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Provide expert advice and oversee the care of patients referred by other specialists
- Collaborate with tertiary hospitals and maintain strong professional links
- Develop and update neurology protocols and guidelines in conjunction with your peers
- Engage actively in clinical governance processes and lead quality improvement initiatives within your subspeciality
- Mentor and supervise allied health professionals and medical students as necessary
- Coordinate closely with the Directorate Manager for optimal service delivery and resource management
- Uphold exceptional standards of record-keeping and data protection
- Contribute to departmental and multidisciplinary meetings, and adhere to appraisal and revalidation processes
