Key Responsibilities

• Undertake and manage complex social work assessments and interventions, promoting independence, wellbeing, and safety.

• Lead on safeguarding enquiries, ensuring effective protection planning and risk management.

• Provide supervision, mentoring, and professional support to social workers and support staff.

• Develop personalised, outcome-focused care and support plans in collaboration with individuals and their families.

• Liaise effectively with multi-agency partners, including health, housing, education, and voluntary sector organisations.

• Represent Adult Services at case conferences, court proceedings, and multi-disciplinary meetings.

• Maintain accurate case records and documentation in line with professional and local standards.

• Contribute to quality assurance, audits, and service development initiatives that enhance overall practice.

Essential Requirements

• Qualified and registered Social Worker with Social Work England.

• Significant post-qualifying experience within adult social care, ideally in a local authority setting.

• In-depth knowledge of key legislation including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.

• Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.

Desirable:

• Experience supervising students or junior social workers.

• Background in court work or safeguarding investigations.

• Familiarity with Hillingdon or Greater London services and frameworks.
