Locum Social Worker - Complex Safeguarding Team in Ashton-under-Lyne, UK, earning £39 hourly for 3 months

Join Tameside's dynamic Complex Safeguarding Team as a Social Worker, in both maternity leave cover and interim positions, to safeguard and support adolescents at risk of exploitation. Primarily office-based, you'll work full-time on essential provision, focusing on reducing harm and delivering positive outcomes for young people at risk of child exploitation, human trafficking, or who go missing from home. Collaborate with colleagues from GMP, Health, and other partners to protect and uplift vulnerable youth. What you will do:

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify and support adolescents at risk, utilising trauma-informed methods.
• Provide immediate support and crisis intervention, collaborating with law enforcement and child protection agencies.
• Advocate for young people, ensuring their voices and rights are respected and acknowledged.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop coordinated safeguarding strategies.
• Develop risk management and safety plans, continuously assessing and adjusting to protect against exploitation.
• Create and deliver educational programs to raise awareness of exploitation among adolescents and the community.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with statutory and organisational policies.
