About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Social Worker to join the Children in Care Team in Bournemouth. This ongoing, full-time opportunity offers a competitive hourly rate of £39.04, along with the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement.

As a key member of the team, you will play an essential role in supporting children and young people in care, ensuring their needs are met, their voices are heard, and their futures are bright. You’ll be joining a passionate, dedicated group of professionals within a ‘good’ rated local authority that values collaboration, manageable caseloads, and regular supervision.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people in care, ensuring their welfare and development remain central to all decisions.

  • Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals involved in the care process.

  • Undertake assessments and develop individualised care plans that promote stability, safety, and long-term outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to ensure cohesive and effective care planning.

  • Maintain accurate, timely records and produce detailed reports in line with statutory requirements.

  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and reflective practice sessions to support continuous improvement.


Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with a valid registration (Social Work England).

  • Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a statutory English local authority, in line with DfE standards.

  • Ability to work in the Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole area at least three days per week.

  • Essential car user with access to a vehicle, as travel may be required.

  • Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding legislation, and care planning processes.
