Job Description:
 We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Young People's Service at Southampton City Council. This dynamic team addresses the complex challenges faced by young people across the city, including safeguarding, serious youth violence, and emotional wellbeing. The role involves collaboration across Youth Justice, Missing and Exploitation prevention, Young People's Social Work, Early Help, and Child and Adolescent Mental Health services, providing a holistic approach to supporting young individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
- 
Conduct assessments to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of young people and families, managing complex cases effectively. 
- 
Collaborate creatively within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver holistic support. 
- 
Advocate for the needs of young people, liaising with multiple services to ensure appropriate interventions. 
- 
Implement trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions in line with national best practices and legislation. 
- 
Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and other professionals, maintaining a solution-focused approach. 
Qualifications and Experience:
- 
Qualified and registered Social Worker with Social Work England. 
- 
Minimum of three years’ experience in statutory social work with children, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children. 
- 
Ability to support families compassionately using a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach. 
- 
Strong assessment, safeguarding, and case management skills for high-complexity cases. 
- 
Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
