Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30am–15:30pm
Salary: £500–£600 per week

This friendly yet high-achieving Merton primary school is seeking a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant to join its nurturing Early Years team. As a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping Nursery and Reception children settle into school life, fostering their curiosity, creativity and emotional growth.
Who We’re Looking For
To thrive as a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant, you must have:
- A degree in Early Years, Childhood Studies, Education, or another relevant subject (essential under new EYFS legislation)
- A genuine passion for supporting young children in their learning and development
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build nurturing relationships
- An empathetic, caring and resilient nature
- An interest in progressing into teacher training or Early Years specialism in the future
- Some experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support the learning and development of children in Nursery and Reception
- Deliver 1:1 and small group support in areas such as phonics, early writing and numeracy
- Provide empathetic care and help children build confidence and independence
- Prepare engaging resources and assist with creative, play-based learning activities
- Support with classroom routines, organisation, and behaviour management
