A warm, inclusive primary school in Leamington Spa is looking for a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This full-time, term-time only position is perfect for those aiming for careers in educational psychology, SEN support, mental health, or teaching. As a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant, you’ll gain hands-on experience working with pupils supporting their learning, emotional growth, and wellbeing in a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, and social-emotional challenges
• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to boost engagement and progress
• Assist with behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
• Promote mental health awareness and emotional resilience
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to maintain an inclusive learning environment
• Provide extra academic support in literacy, numeracy, and other key subjects

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking compassionate, motivated graduates who have:

• A minimum 2:1 degree in Psychology or a closely related field
• A strong passion for supporting children’s learning and emotional wellbeing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
• (Desirable) Experience working with children or young people—mentoring, tutoring, youth work, or SEN support
• A clear interest in careers such as educational psychology, counselling, teaching, or child development
