An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse to join the Single Point Access Team in Stockport, UK. Offering a competitive rate of £26 per hour and flexible core hours from 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, with the possibility to adjust start and finish times for the right candidate, this locum position provides a chance to work 3 to 6 months and potentially more. Options such as working from 8 am to 6 pm for 3 to 4 days, 8 am to 4 pm, or even 9 am to 6 pm are available. Part-time applicants are also welcome.

What you will do:

  • Assess, manage risk, and provide short-term support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges, ensuring appropriate referrals and signposting.
  • Facilitate the development of a robust interface between the team and other mental health services, contributing to the gateway and assessment role of the team.
  • Perform comprehensive health and social care needs assessments for service referrals, including thorough risk assessments.
  • Provide urgent assessments for those presenting through the urgent care pathway with acute mental health needs, determining management plans and facilitating referrals into specialist services.
  • Offer brief crisis interventions, follow-up appointments, and support for crisis management and harm minimisation.
  • Deliver care in accordance with policies of Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, the Mental Health Act, and community care legislation.

Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Mental Health Nursing.
  • Experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
  • Valid NMC Registration.
