Our Client has a requirement for a Civil Engineer (Buildings), who will be required to work on a contract basis in a flexible UK location (hybrid, with offices in Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol or Cardiff).
Role Purpose:

Support the design and delivery of small-to-medium infrastructure projects for the buildings sector

Produce high-quality civil engineering designs including drainage, access roads, car parks, and utilities
-
Contribute to multidisciplinary project teams and work within BIM/digital engineering frameworks
-
Deliver projects in compliance with UK design standards and client specifications
-
Operate independently when needed, taking ownership of key workstreams
Job Role Responsibilities:

Lead and support design packages in drainage, roads/car parks, earthworks, and external works
-
Create and review 2D/3D designs using Civil 3D and AutoCAD
-
Use Infodrainage or Flow software to model surface and foul water drainage systems
-
Ensure designs are aligned with BIM Level 2 standards and project BIM Execution Plans

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including statutory authorities

Adhere to AtkinsRéalis’ quality assurance and technical standards
-
Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to reporting and digital workflows
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
-
Degree or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
-
5+ years’ experience in civil engineering with a strong focus on both drainage and road/car park design
-
Proficient in Civil 3D and AutoCAD (Revit/BIM 360 experience desirable)
-
Experienced in Infodrainage, Flow, or similar drainage design tools
-
Familiarity with UK design codes and regulatory requirements
-
Experience working on small-to-medium building projects (not highways, rail or utilities)
-
Chartered or working towards Chartership with ICE (CEng/MICE preferred)
-
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
-
Strong communication and documentation skills
-
Eligible for SC clearance

UK Driving Licence desirable
