The Opportunity

Are you a graduate looking to gain practical experience in the classroom before pursuing a career in education? A friendly and inclusive primary school in Nuneaton is seeking a motivated Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This full-time, term-time only position is ideal for aspiring primary teachers who are preparing for teacher training in 2026 or beyond. You’ll support children across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2), working alongside experienced staff to help pupils grow both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Assist class teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons across the curriculum
• Provide one-to-one and small group support in key subjects such as Maths, English, and Phonics
• Support behaviour management and help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Work with pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEN) or require additional guidance
• Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and enthusiasm for learning
• Get involved in extracurricular clubs, school trips, and community events

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for enthusiastic and committed graduates who meet the following criteria:

• Minimum 2:2 degree in any subject (Education, Psychology, English, or related areas are advantageous)
• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A caring, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to learning support
• Previous experience working with children (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, volunteering, youth work, summer camps) – highly desirable
• A clear interest in progressing into a career in primary teaching
