The Opportunity

Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain meaningful experience supporting young people in education? A nurturing primary school in Leamington Spa is seeking a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This full-time, term-time only role is ideal for those aspiring to careers in Educational Psychology, mental health, SEN support, or teacher training. You’ll work closely with pupils—primarily across Key Stage 2—helping to support their learning, emotional development, and overall wellbeing in a caring school environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, and social-emotional difficulties
• Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to help pupils engage with learning
• Assist in implementing behavioural and emotional support strategies
• Promote mental health awareness and emotional resilience among young learners
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to create a safe, inclusive environment
• Support learning activities, especially for pupils requiring additional guidance in core subjects

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking empathetic and motivated graduates who meet the following criteria:

• Minimum 2:1 degree in Psychology or a related field
• Passion for supporting children’s learning, wellbeing, and personal development
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach
• Some relevant experience with young people (e.g., mentoring, tutoring, care work, youth programmes, SEN settings) – desirable
• A clear interest in careers such as educational psychology, counselling, teaching, or youth work
