Industrial Relations Manager

A leading organisation within the Engineering Construction sector is seeking an Industrial Relations Manager to join the team.
This is a critical role supporting a major infrastructure project, where you will drive positive employee and trade union relationships, aligned with organisational values and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Union & Employee Relations

Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with trade unions.

Promote open, transparent, and constructive dialogue across all levels.

Support fair and consistent employee treatment, reflecting company values.

Grievance & Conflict Resolution

Manage employee grievances, complaints, and disciplinary processes.

Facilitate mediation and counselling to resolve issues swiftly and effectively.

Industrial Relations Strategy

Investigate and resolve complex or high-risk industrial relations cases.

Monitor workforce feedback to identify trends and propose improvements.

Lead and support initiatives that enhance workforce engagement and employee relations.

Key Requirements

Industry Experience

Proven background in Industrial Relations or Employee Relations, ideally within Engineering Construction or similar sectors.

Technical Expertise

Strong knowledge of HR policies and procedures.

Comprehensive understanding of UK employment law and collective bargaining processes.

Skilled negotiator with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels.

Proficient in problem-solving and conflict resolution with a pragmatic, solutions-driven mindset.
