Process Engineer in West Midlands, West Midlands

Our client has a requirement for a Process / Chemical Engineer (Vacuum Distillation), who will be required to work on a contract basis in the West Midlands.

Role Purpose:
To support site operations by identifying practical ways to optimise throughput of a high-volume waste oil reprocessing plant using vacuum distillation. The engineer will work closely with the site team, providing hands-on advice to improve operational efficiency and assess potential capacity upgrades.

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Identify operational improvements and plant optimisation opportunities
• Assess and recommend options for larger-scale capacity increases, including CAPEX proposals
• Work on-site with the plant team, providing real-world engineering input
• Support troubleshooting and enhancement of existing vacuum distillation processes
• Provide clear, actionable recommendations for throughput improvement

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

• Proven experience in vacuum distillation operations
• Process or Chemical Engineering background
• Hands-on, practical approach to plant operations and troubleshooting
• Experience with operational plant optimisation and capacity studies
• Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems (site uses remote HMI)
• Comfortable working in a site-based role with close interaction with operations teams
