Lead Strategic Growth as a Senior Commercial Manager – Drive Results, Inspire Teams, Deliver Excellence

Overview
We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Commercial Manager to lead on high-impact commercial functions, supporting resource planning, contract assurance, and team development. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering strategic outcomes while upholding governance and driving commercial excellence across major projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Commercial Director in managing resources and succession planning.
  • Lead and mentor commercial teams across contract management, supply chain, cost control, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and contract obligations.
  • Provide commercial input during bids and project mobilisations.
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships and negotiate with clients and partners.
  • Drive consistency in commercial practice across projects and sectors.
  • Oversee recruitment, performance, and development of commercial staff.
  • Monitor and manage project insurance, valuations, risk, and cash flow.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record in high-value infrastructure or construction.
  • Experience in contract strategy, cost control, and reporting processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to inspire, lead and develop high-performing commercial teams.
  • Confident in navigating legal and contractual matters.
  • Health & safety awareness within a commercial context.
  • 7+ years’ experience in commercial roles in ideally the water industry
  • Proven leadership in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Skilled in implementing procurement and contract strategies.
  • Familiarity with strategic planning and risk management.
  • Degree accredited by RICS or CICES.
  • Chartered Membership of RICS or CICES would be desirable
