Graduate Russell Group Teaching Assistant – Candidate Specification
We are looking for an exceptional Graduate Russell Group Teaching Assistant who holds:
- A graduate with a 1st or 2:1 degree from a Russell Group university in a relevant field such as STEM, English, Humanities, or a closely related subject
- A strong academic track record, including high-achieving GCSE and A-Level results
- A clear and genuine commitment to a long-term career in education whether that’s teaching, educational psychology, school leadership, or SEND specialism
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to engage students and collaborate effectively with staff
- Impressive organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced school environment
- Prior experience in a school or educational setting such as Teaching Assistant work, peer mentoring, tutoring, or volunteering is highly desirable
Graduate Russell Group Teaching Assistant – Job Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Graduate Russell Group Teaching Assistant will include
- Provide in-class support across Key Stages 3 and 4, working alongside experienced teachers
- Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions in your subject specialism (and beyond)
- Support students with SEN, EAL, or low confidence, adapting your approach to meet diverse needs
- Help prepare lesson materials, track student progress and offer timely academic feedback
- Be a positive and proactive presence in the school, supporting behaviour for learning and inclusion
- Take part in form time, clubs, revision sessions, and enrichment activities
