Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored, client-focused occupational therapy interventions aimed at promoting independence and improving quality of life.

  • Provide supervision and support to Disability Resource Team staff, including OT Assistants, helping develop their practice and confidence.

  • Assess complex cases to recommend major/minor housing adaptations that enable safe, accessible living environments.

  • Offer professional advice and training on core and specialist equipment to service users, carers, and professionals.

  • Prescribe, demonstrate, and monitor the use of moving and handling equipment to meet complex functional needs.

  • Facilitate timely hospital discharges by ensuring appropriate care and environmental adjustments are in place.

  • Lead and deliver reablement programmes designed to support recovery and maximize independence post-crisis.

  • Conduct independent mobility assessments for Blue Badge eligibility and ensure all documentation aligns with legal criteria.


What We’re Looking For

  • HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist

  • Proven experience in a local authority or social care setting, handling complex caseloads and reablement-focused interventions.

  • Skilled in functional assessment, equipment prescription, and discharge planning.

  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.

  • A car driver with a valid UK licence to ensure flexibility in service delivery across multiple sites.
