We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join the Assessment Team within Children’s Services in Wokingham. Key Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989, ensuring children’s safety and well-being.

• Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns, responding appropriately and promptly in partnership with relevant agencies.

• Recommend and implement evidence-based interventions based on assessed needs, including early help and care proceedings.

• Ensure compliance with statutory timescales and contribute to multi-agency planning processes.

• Collaborate with professionals across health, education, and law enforcement to deliver integrated support.

• Prepare court reports and attend hearings when required, ensuring all documentation is thorough and accurate.

• Maintain up-to-date records on Wokingham’s electronic case management system in line with statutory standards.

Essential Requirements

• Social Work degree or equivalent qualification.

• Registration with Social Work England.

• Previous experience in statutory children’s social work, preferably within assessment or safeguarding teams.

• Sound knowledge of legislative frameworks, child protection thresholds, and multi-agency working.
