Key Responsibilities

Deliver a comprehensive statutory social work service to children looked after, in line with current legislation and best practices.

Undertake individual, proportionate assessments to develop targeted interventions supporting children and families.

Co-produce and manage Care and Support Plans, ensuring they meet personal well-being outcomes for each child.

Liaise with families, professionals, and partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

Manage cases involving safeguarding concerns and allegations of abuse, ensuring robust risk assessments and interventions.

Oversee and review Part 6 Care and Support Plans, coordinating multi-agency input to achieve permanence and stability.

Represent the local authority in court proceedings where necessary, providing high-quality evidence and reports.

Participate in duty rotations, maintain an organised caseload, and ensure accurate case recording at all times.

Actively contribute to team briefings, service development discussions, and collaborative initiatives.
Essential Requirements

Degree in Social Work (or equivalent).

Registered with Social Care Wales.

Experience in working with children looked after, safeguarding, or statutory children's social work.

Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, and procedures.

Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
