Occupational Therapist – Adult Social Care (Community Team)
Location: Wandsworth, UK
Rate: £30–£35 per hour (Umbrella)
Type: Locum | Full-Time (Negotiable) | Ongoing
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join the Community Adult Social Care Team in Wandsworth. This locum position offers flexible working hours, a full-time commitment, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on individuals' lives by promoting independence and well-being in the community.
Key Responsibilities

Complete person-centred Occupational Therapy assessments in service users’ homes, addressing physical disabilities and mobility issues.

Recommend and provide appropriate equipment, minor adaptations, and major adaptations to improve daily living.

Manage a diverse caseload aligned to your expertise, collaborating closely with internal colleagues and external agencies.

Conduct thorough Moving & Handling assessments, offering practical advice to carers and family members.

Respond to urgent referrals, prioritising based on risk and ensuring duty of care is maintained.

Participate in the OT Duty rota and contribute to team-wide responsibilities and service delivery.

Facilitate internal and external referrals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.

Communicate effectively via telephone and email, addressing enquiries in a timely manner.
Requirements

HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
-
Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle

Experience in community-based adult social care preferred
-
Strong knowledge of equipment provision, adaptations, and manual handling techniques

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
