Role Overview

We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Children’s Social Worker – Family Court Adviser to join the team in Birmingham. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out robust, child-focused assessments to inform family court decisions.

  • Directly engage with children to ensure their voices are heard and reflected in court reports.

  • Utilise risk assessment, safeguarding knowledge, and mediation skills to recommend child-centred solutions.

  • Manage private law and public law cases, including matters raised by local authorities.

  • Liaise with families, solicitors, and partner agencies to deliver holistic and fair recommendations.

  • Prepare high-quality reports and present evidence in court, maintaining a focus on child welfare and protection.


What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

  • Proven experience in children’s social care, ideally within court or safeguarding settings.

  • Skilled in writing court reports and presenting evidence.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills.

  • Confident in managing complex caseloads independently and collaboratively.
