Join our dedicated multidisciplinary team in Waltham Forest as a Locum Recovery Worker, where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals dealing with substance misuse issues. This flexible role offers the opportunity to work full-time or part-time, providing essential services aimed at helping people improve their health, achieve recovery, and reintegrate into the community.

Role Purpose:

To support individuals experiencing substance misuse challenges by delivering tailored, person-centred interventions that promote recovery, health improvement, and social reintegration.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, conducting comprehensive assessments and developing recovery plans.

  • Deliver structured one-to-one key work sessions and group interventions based on evidence-informed models including CBT, MI, and relapse prevention.

  • Collaborate with partner agencies, including healthcare, social services, and criminal justice, to ensure a coordinated support network.

  • Address safeguarding concerns and ensure all actions align with current safeguarding procedures.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with GDPR and service standards.

  • Conduct outreach work to engage individuals who are hard to reach and bring them into treatment pathways.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in supporting individuals with substance misuse, mental health, or complex needs.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a non-judgemental, trauma-informed approach.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, and recovery-oriented care.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.

  • Experience delivering group work programmes.

  • Familiarity with harm reduction strategies and recovery planning tools.
