What you will do:
- Provide professional leadership and support to social workers and practitioners within the MASH team, ensuring adherence to statutory frameworks and promoting best practice.
- Assist the MASH Team Manager with operational management and decision-making, maintaining team effectiveness through strategic office presence.
- Evaluate complex cases, offering expert advice to staff and partners to prioritise child protection and welfare.
- Lead multi-agency screening, assessment, and risk analysis activities to deliver evidence-based recommendations for case management.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external agencies, facilitating coordinated safeguarding responses.
- Monitor social work practice within MASH, supporting professional development and reflective practice among staff.
- Contribute to policy, procedure, and practice model development for safeguarding and social work within MASH.
- Represent social work perspectives at senior management levels and multi-agency forums, influencing service delivery and resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate professional records in line with data protection legislation and organisational standards.
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and relevant training to uphold professional standards and improve service quality.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional Social Work qualification recognised by Social Work England (SWE) or equivalent.
- Valid SWE registration and enhanced DBS clearance.
- Minimum of four years' post-qualification experience in children’s social care, ideally within safeguarding or MASH settings.
- Experience in leadership or supervisory roles within social work teams.
- In-depth knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory frameworks, and multi-agency safeguarding protocols.
- Strong skills in risk assessment, decision-making, and managing complex cases.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain professional standards in a fast-moving environment.
