Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Assessments & Interventions: Deliver holistic occupational therapy assessments and formulate tailored treatment plans aimed at promoting independence in activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and cognitive functioning.

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work in close partnership with physiotherapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care across various settings, including community hubs, intermediate care beds, and discharge pathways.

  • Service Development & Leadership: Contribute to service improvement projects, supervise junior staff and students, and engage in clinical audits and research to promote evidence-based practice.

  • Flexible Service Delivery: Provide therapy across Urgent Community Response (UCR), Care Transfer Hub, and Intermediate Care Bed Bases, with participation in rotational duties and weekend cover.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional Registration: Must hold current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Occupational Therapist.

  • Education: Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy.

  • Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience in rehabilitation or reablement-focused health settings.

  • Supervisory Experience: Proven ability to supervise staff and students, and effectively work within a collaborative team.

  • Clinical Competence: Sound knowledge of current clinical guidelines and ability to implement evidence-based practice.

  • Driving Requirement: Full UK driving licence to enable travel across multiple service locations.
