What you will do:
- Assist the Lead Pharmacy Technician in managing the day-to-day running of the SDU according to standard procedures.
- Ensure timely dispensing and delivery of batch and PS doses to the correct locations.
- Collaborate with Trust operational leads and pharmacy aseptic staff to optimise dose delivery.
- Support effective management of the batch and PS supply pathway.
- Work closely with clinical units and pharmacy staff to address patient treatment queries.
- Foster strong communication within the SDU pathway with relevant pharmacy teams.
- Participate in SDU activities and perform Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) checks.
- Manage and prioritise workload effectively while using initiative.
- Contribute to audits, data collection, and service improvement strategies.
- Regularly review Standard Operating Procedures with the Lead Technician to maintain high standards.
- Report and investigate incidents to minimise future risks.
- Supervise ATOs and deputise for the Lead Technician when required.
- Monitor stock levels and perform regular stock checks as per procedures.
- Assist in the recruitment and training of new staff in accordance with Trust standards.
- Stay updated on medicines knowledge and participate in ongoing training.
Requirements:
- 2 years of relevant pharmacy technician experience.
- HCPC registration necessary.
- A valid driver's licence is preferable.
