Key Responsibilities As a Children’s Social Worker in the Children with Disabilities Team, you will: Undertake statutory assessments and interventions for children with disabilities under the Children Act 1989. Manage cases across Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children frameworks. Develop, implement, and review robust, child-centred care and support plans, including short breaks and direct payments. Lead safeguarding activity, including Section 47 enquiries and participation in Child Protection Conferences. Work closely with families using a strengths-based and relationship-focused approach. Collaborate with multi-agency partners, attending EHCP reviews, strategy meetings, and professionals’ meetings. Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, and documentation for court proceedings and panels where required.
