Inspect Critical Infrastructure on One of the UK's Largest Nuclear ProjectsOur Client has a requirement for an Onsite Inspector, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Somerset.Role Purpose: Carry out inspection activities across welding and fabrication works on siteEnsure compliance with project specifications, QA/QC requirements and nuclear industry standardsSupport the delivery of high-quality inspection services on a major nuclear construction projectMaintain the highest standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance Job Role Responsibilities: Perform visual welding inspections in accordance with approved procedures and standardsConduct and/or witness NDT activities including MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) and DPI (Dye Penetrant Inspection)Review and verify inspection and quality documentation, including WPSs, material certificates and inspection recordsIdentify, document and report non-conformancesProduce accurate inspection reports and quality recordsLiaise with site personnel, contractors and client representatives regarding inspection activitiesEnsure all inspections are completed in line with project quality requirements and applicable regulationsPromote a strong health, safety and quality culture on site Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications: CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector qualification as a minimumCurrent MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) certificationCurrent DPI/PT (Dye Penetrant Inspection) certificationRadiography Awareness (RAD) certificationPrevious experience working as a Welding Inspector, QA Inspector or QC Inspector within highly regulated industriesStrong understanding of welding processes, welding defects and acceptance criteriaAbility to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentationExcellent attention to detail and reporting skillsPrevious experience within the nuclear, power generation, oil & gas, heavy engineering or construction sectors is advantageous Company informationAt First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
