 Engineering Manager - Water Sector Contract or Permanent Occasional home working Purpose Manage a m...  Engineering Manager - Water Sector Contract or Permanent Occasional home working Purpose Manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team and lead the delivery of water industry designs, ensuring time, quality, safety, and client expectations are met.   Key Responsibilities  Direct, mentor, and develop multi-disciplinary engineers, CAD technicians, and graduates.Identify, develop, and implement safe, efficient, and value-engineered design solutions; communicate these effectively to clients and project teams.Act as the Professional Head for the design function.Guide design activities to ensure compliance with relevant technical, professional, and water company standards; approve design packages.Identify and implement appropriate software tools; promote the use of BIM and 3D modelling where required.Manage the production of integrated design deliverables that meet safety and quality requirements.Review, interpret, and brief teams on standards, procedures, and updates.Ensure design deliverables are completed within agreed timescales, budgets, and formal processes.Ensure all project changes affecting design packages are fully recorded.Lead estimating activities relating to design package hours and resource requirements.    Required Qualifications & Experience  Minimum 10 years’ experience in the regulated water industry.Graduate-level education or HND.Good level of IT proficiency.Chartered Engineer.Strong desire to take a leading role within the engineering design team.Understanding of MEICA, civil, and process design disciplines.Proven track record managing multi-disciplinary design teams and projects.Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.    Preferred Qualifications & Experience  Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership.    Key Skills  Strong Communication skills — effectively engage with clients and teams.Results-focused approach with a commitment to delivering quality on time.In-depth Technical knowledge of water industry engineering and design standards.Ability to develop self and others, fostering team growth and professional development.Effective Problem-solving capabilities to address complex design challenges.Excellent Teamwork, encouraging collaboration across disciplines.  Company informationAt First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
