What You Will Do:

Lead and Manage Teams: Lead, manage, and supervise a multidisciplinary team including youth justice workers, social workers, probation officers, education, and health practitioners.
Supervision and Development: Provide regular reflective supervision, performance management, and professional development support.
Workload Management: Manage workloads, allocation, and staffing capacity to ensure effective service delivery.
Statutory Compliance: Ensure statutory duties under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 are met.
Quality Assurance: Oversee the preparation and quality assurance of court reports, assessments, and intervention plans.
Court and Panel Support: Support staff attending Youth Courts, panels, and multi-agency meetings.
Decision Making: Authorise key decisions and plans in line with local governance arrangements.
Risk Oversight: Maintain oversight of high-risk cases, including serious youth violence, exploitation, and safeguarding concerns.
Risk Management: Ensure effective risk assessment, management, and review processes are in place.
Performance Monitoring: Lead on quality assurance, audits, and performance monitoring against YJB standards and local KPIs.
Service Improvement: Drive service improvement informed by data, inspections, and feedback.
Partnership Working: Work closely with police, courts, probation, education, health, social care, and voluntary sector partners.
Representation: Represent the Youth Justice Service at strategic and operational partnership forums.
Integrated Services: Support the delivery of integrated services addressing offending behaviour and underlying needs.
