Youth Justice Officer - Southampton, UK - £24.53 per hour, Umbrella Hourly. Southampton City Council is on the hunt for a skilled Youth Justice Officer to bolster their Youth Justice Service for a 3-month locum assignment starting ASAP. What you will do:

- Manage a diverse caseload of children and young people subjected to statutory court orders and pre-court interventions, ensuring all receive exemplary guidance and support.
- Conduct thorough assessments, deliver detailed reports, and design tailored intervention plans meeting the Youth Justice Board standards.
- Collaborate effectively with families, schools, police, courts, and various partner agencies to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Actively support safeguarding, risk management, and public protection processes, maintaining high safety and ethical standards.
- Participate in court, panels, and multi-agency meetings as needed, representing the Youth Justice Service with professionalism and expertise.

Requirements:

- Robust experience within a Youth Justice Service or a similar setting is essential.
- Deep understanding of youth justice legislation, safeguarding practices, and risk assessment is critical.
- Strong ability to juggle caseloads effectively while adhering to tight deadlines is a must.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) is required to comply with safeguarding standards.
