What you will do
- Deliver specialist rehabilitation support to individuals with visual impairments, promoting independence and confidence.
- Provide support and guidance to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Design and implement personalised rehabilitation interventions that maximise independence.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored rehabilitation plans.
- Offer expert advice, practical support, and guidance to improve service users' wellbeing and quality of life.
- Work collaboratively with Adult Social Care services and partner agencies to ensure coordinated support.
- Support individuals in developing daily living skills, mobility, and communication strategies.
- Promote inclusion, independence, and enhanced participation within the community.
Requirements
- Professional Qualification: Relevant Sensory Impairment Rehabilitation qualification.
- Specialist Experience: Demonstrable experience working with people who are visually impaired and those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Assessment Skills: Experience conducting assessments and delivering rehabilitation services.
- Caseload Management: Ability to work independently and effectively manage a varied caseload.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a person-centred approach.
Desirable
- Local Authority Experience: Previous experience working within a Local Authority setting.
- Dual Sensory Impairment Experience: Experience supporting individuals with dual sensory impairments.
- Community Rehabilitation: Background in community-based rehabilitation services.
