What you will do

• Deliver specialist rehabilitation support to individuals with visual impairments, promoting independence and confidence.
• Provide support and guidance to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Design and implement personalised rehabilitation interventions that maximise independence.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored rehabilitation plans.
• Offer expert advice, practical support, and guidance to improve service users' wellbeing and quality of life.
• Work collaboratively with Adult Social Care services and partner agencies to ensure coordinated support.
• Support individuals in developing daily living skills, mobility, and communication strategies.
• Promote inclusion, independence, and enhanced participation within the community.

Requirements

• Professional Qualification: Relevant Sensory Impairment Rehabilitation qualification.
• Specialist Experience: Demonstrable experience working with people who are visually impaired and those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Assessment Skills: Experience conducting assessments and delivering rehabilitation services.
• Caseload Management: Ability to work independently and effectively manage a varied caseload.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a person-centred approach.

Desirable

• Local Authority Experience: Previous experience working within a Local Authority setting.
• Dual Sensory Impairment Experience: Experience supporting individuals with dual sensory impairments.
• Community Rehabilitation: Background in community-based rehabilitation services.
