Temporary Accounts Assistant

Location:Winsford, Cheshire
Pay Rate:£15.00 per hour DOE
Shift Pattern:Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
Contract:Temporary Ongoing

The Role:

We’re currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a growing business and provide support across the day-to-day finance function. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience within an SME or fast-paced environment who enjoys working across a broad range of finance duties.

Working closely with the Head of Finance, you’ll play an important role in keeping accounts accurate, organised and up to date, while supporting with a variety of finance tasks and assisting with preparations for the annual financial audit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete regular bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies to ensure financial records remain accurate
• Support the day-to-day purchase ledger function, including processing invoices, maintaining supplier accounts and keeping records accurate and up to date
• Assist with preparing financial information, records and supporting documentation required for the audit process
• Maintain accurate, organised and reliable financial records, identifying discrepancies and taking appropriate action to resolve them
• Provide support across the wider finance function, assisting with a variety of accounting and administrative tasks as required

About You:

• Confident working with numbers and have strong attention to detail
• Well organised and able to manage your own workload and priorities effectively
• Practical experience with bank reconciliations and purchase ledger
• Confident using accounting systems and Excel
• Comfortable investigating and resolving discrepancies independently
• Previous experience supporting with year-end accounts or financial audit preparation
• Experience working within an SME or growing business, with exposure to a range of finance duties
