Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do
- Lead and manage a team of Social Workers within the Duty and Assessment Team.
- Oversee referrals, screening, and initial assessments, ensuring statutory timescales and quality standards are met.
- Provide regular supervision, coaching, and professional support to staff.
- Monitor and manage risk, ensuring safeguarding procedures comply with legislation and best practice.
- Collaborate with multi‑agency partners to promote integrated and effective responses.
- Ensure compliance with key legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and Children Act 2004.
- Contribute to performance management, quality assurance, and service improvement initiatives.
Requirements / Candidate Criteria
Essential
- Recognised Social Work qualification.
- Social Work England registration.
- Extensive post‑qualification experience in Children’s Social Care.
- Proven experience supervising or managing social workers.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory frameworks.
- Confident, evidence‑based decision‑making skills.
Desirable
- Management qualification or formal leadership training.
- Experience working within front‑door, MASH, or Assessment services.
- Experience contributing to performance monitoring and service improvement.
