Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do
- Provide clinical leadership and operational management within RWCDAS, addressing daily prescribing and service delivery needs.
- Deliver high‑quality client care through regular supervision, appraisals, teaching, and staff development.
- Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, delivering nurse‑led clinics and specialist interventions.
- Prescribe independently for alcohol and drug service users in line with non‑medical prescribing standards.
- Model best practice, supporting and motivating staff through mentorship and leadership.
- Ensure accurate data collection, reporting, and submission to meet Trust, commissioning, and national requirements.
- Conduct audits to maintain compliance with CAG, Trust, CQC, NICE, and PHE standards.
Requirements / Candidate Criteria
Essential
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
- Qualified Non‑Medical Prescriber (NMP).
- Significant experience in substance misuse services.
- Strong leadership, supervision, and case‑management skills.
- In‑depth knowledge of clinical governance, prescribing standards, and audit processes.
Desirable
- Experience working within NHS or community drug and alcohol services.
- Previous senior or lead nurse experience within substance misuse settings.
- Familiarity with commissioning and national reporting frameworks.
