Milton Keynes
contract, full-time
£100,000 - £140,000 per annum

UK working eligibility only.

We’re excited to be partnered with a leading UK & Ireland consumer brand, headquartered in the UK, to appoint a Sustainability Director at group level. This is a newly refined and highly visible role, operating across the UK and Ireland and reporting into the Chief Supply Chain Officer.

With solid foundations already in place and ESG analytics support available, this is a rare opportunity for a senior sustainability professional to set direction, lead meaningful change and embed sustainability across a highly recognisable consumer business. The organisation has a preference for a permanent appointment, with potential scope for an initial 6‑month interim solution.

The role is based in Milton Keynes, with occasional travel to Ireland, offering a blend of strategic influence at ExCo level and close involvement in delivery, data and real-world outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Set the Sustainability Direction - Define and deliver a clear sustainability strategy that aligns with commercial and operational priorities.
  • Progress Carbon & Environmental Commitments - Lead carbon reduction initiatives across operations and the supply chain, translating ambition into measurable outcomes.
  • Own Framework‑Led Reporting - Lead financial and non‑financial disclosures, including TCFD and IFRS/ISSB‑aligned reporting.
  • Partner with Senior Leaders - Engage ExCo stakeholders to build alignment, shared ownership and ongoing progress.
  • Embed Sustainability in Practice - Work closely with teams to implement initiatives, support data capture and track performance across the business.

Who they’re looking for:

  • Experienced Sustainability Leadership - A background leading sustainability within a complex, consumer or supply‑chain‑led organisation.
  • Reporting Ownership & Expertise - Demonstrated experience owning TCFD and evolving IFRS/ISSB requirements and presenting clearly to senior audiences.
  • Balanced Strategic & Delivery Focus - Comfortable setting direction while also working closely with data, supply chain activity and implementation.
  • Skilled Influencer - Able to engage senior stakeholders and integrate sustainability into business decision‑making.
  • Impact‑Focused Mindset - Motivated by progress, outcomes and embedding sustainability for the long term.
