Location: Northamptonshire (Hybrid – One Angel Square)
Pay Rate: £35.00 per hour Umbrella
Contract Type: Temporary / Agency

Seven Resourcing is recruiting for an experienced Supervising Social Worker (Fostering) to join a Corporate Parenting Service within Northamptonshire. This is a hybrid role providing sickness cover within a busy fostering team.
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker with strong post-qualifying experience in children’s services, fostering, and statutory social work practice. The role involves supervising foster carers, supporting looked after children, and ensuring safe and stable placements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a caseload of approved foster carers
- Provide regular supervision, support, and guidance to foster carers
- Undertake assessments of children and their families
- Carry out home visits to children and foster families
- Work closely with the Placements Team to support appropriate placements
- Deliver interventions to address identified needs and safeguarding concerns
- Review and evaluate effectiveness of social work interventions
- Maintain accurate and timely case recordings in line with statutory requirements
- Support the wellbeing and stability of looked after children
- Engage in direct work with children and families to build strong relationships
- Participate in duty systems and respond to placement needs when required
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, legislation, and local authority procedures
Requirements:
- Social Work qualification (Degree or equivalent)
- Social Work England registration
- Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience within an English local authority (essential)
- Experience in fostering, looked after children, or children’s services
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and statutory social work experience
- Experience supervising foster carers and managing caseloads
- Strong assessment, communication, and report writing skills
