Role Overview:
As a Band 6 Substance Misuse Nurse, you will deliver high-quality clinical assessment and treatment to substance-dependent prisoners, working collaboratively with HM Prison Service and other stakeholders. Your role includes ensuring the delivery of excellent nursing care and relevant substance misuse interventions, adhering to the standards of the NMC Code of Conduct. You will also demonstrate leadership and may undertake managerial responsibilities when required.
What you will do:
- Provide exceptional nursing care through continued clinical assessment, treatment planning, implementation, and evaluation for those with drug and alcohol dependencies.
- Operate with autonomy and professional accountability, delivering healthcare safely and effectively.
- Handle sensitive information with empathy, engaging with other professionals as necessary regarding a patient's changing condition or needs.
- Engage in inter-professional and multidisciplinary teamwork to ensure comprehensive care.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of clinical and psychosocial services.
- Safely manage high-risk areas and conduct thorough risk assessments.
- Promote the health and well-being of patients, addressing their complex needs to support physical and psychological health.
- Maintain and review care plans and needs assessments.
- Manage your own caseload of patients effectively.
- Embed the 6 ‘C’s into clinical practice and uphold professional behaviour and standards as per the NMC Code of Conduct at all times.
