Social Worker within the Duty & Advice (MASH) Team in Oldham, earning £39.00 per hour. What you will do:

  • Referral Screening: Receive, screen, and assess referrals relating to children, young people, and families.

  • Safeguarding Assessments: Undertake timely safeguarding assessments to identify risk levels and determine appropriate interventions.

  • Information Gathering: Collect, analyse, and evaluate information from a range of agencies to support informed decision-making.

  • Professional Advice: Provide guidance and advice to partner agencies and members of the public regarding safeguarding concerns and appropriate pathways.

  • Multi-Agency Working: Collaborate closely with Greater Manchester Police, Health Services, Education Providers, and other key safeguarding partners.

  • Risk Assessment: Complete evidence-based safeguarding and risk assessments, ensuring children receive the right level of support and protection.

  • Decision Making: Make timely and proportionate decisions regarding thresholds, interventions, and service provision.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements and local procedures.

  • Strategy Discussions: Participate in partnership meetings, strategy discussions, and multi-agency forums to improve outcomes for children and families.

  • Safeguarding Practice: Promote early intervention and preventative approaches wherever appropriate to reduce escalation of need.
