What you will do:

  • Provide effective social work interventions to safeguard children's welfare and support their health and development.
  • Identify situations where children cannot remain at home and take timely action to ensure their long-term stability and well-being.
  • Maintain child-centred practices by prioritising their needs and incorporating their views in planning and reviews.
  • Lead collaborative efforts among professionals working with at-risk children and those with child protection plans.
  • Work with parents and carers to enhance protective factors and mitigate risks to children's well-being.
  • Support foster carers, adopters, and other caregivers to address children's needs and facilitate smooth transitions to adulthood.
  • Co-ordinate information sharing and case management in line with regulatory standards and data protection principles.
  • Assess and respond to children's needs, taking into account parenting capacity and family dynamics.
  • Present evidence and reports for court and panel review to secure decisions in the best interest of the child.
  • Contribute to the development of services by engaging families and young people in feedback and improvement processes.
  • Evaluate and refine social work practices to enhance outcomes for children and families.
