What you will do

• Hold and manage a caseload of children and young people who are looked after by Kent County Council.

• Complete statutory assessments, care plans, pathway plans, and reviews in line with legislation and local procedures.

• Promote permanence through reunification, long-term fostering, special guardianship, or adoption where appropriate.

• Ensure children’s views, wishes, and feelings are central to all planning and decision-making.

• Support placement stability, emotional wellbeing, education, and health outcomes for children in care.

• Identify, assess, and respond effectively to safeguarding concerns.

• Prepare high-quality reports and attend statutory meetings, including looked after reviews, child protection conferences, and court proceedings.

• Maintain accurate and timely case records within statutory timescales.

• Work collaboratively with foster carers, residential staff, IROs, education providers, health professionals, and partner agencies.

• Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and team meetings to maintain high standards of practice.

• Maintain registration with Social Work England and engage in continuous professional development.
