What You Will Do

• Manage a caseload of children and young people who are looked after, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.

• Undertake regular statutory visits, assessments, and reviews to promote safety and positive outcomes.

• Develop, implement, and review care plans in line with legislation and best practice.

• Lead and contribute to permanence planning, including long-term fostering, adoption, or other permanence options.

• Ensure the child’s voice, wishes, and lived experience are central to all decision-making.

• Work collaboratively with foster carers, residential staff, education providers, health professionals, and other partner agencies.

• Identify and manage safeguarding risks, preparing high-quality reports for reviews, meetings, and court proceedings.

• Attend and contribute to statutory meetings such as Looked After Reviews, care planning meetings, and legal proceedings.

• Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records in line with council policies and statutory requirements.

• Engage in supervision, reflective practice, and continuous professional development.
