What You Will Do

  • Provide strong, visible leadership to Occupational Therapy teams in line with the council’s vision, values, and leadership framework.

  • Deliver professional supervision, allocate workloads, and implement systems to maintain and improve performance and quality standards.

  • Foster a shared sense of purpose, setting clear objectives and encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Lead on performance management, using appropriate HR tools and processes to support staff development and service improvement.

  • Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships within the team and with wider partners, promoting equality, diversity, and fairness.

  • Supervise and develop Occupational Therapists, support staff, and students to ensure consistently high-quality practice.

  • Oversee and, where required, manage complex cases, carrying out assessments and working with partner agencies to deliver holistic support.

  • Act as a professional lead and trusted advisor, including providing independent assessments and keeping up to date with developments in equipment and best practice.

  • HCPC registration: Essential

  • Driving licence: Essential
