Social Worker – Assessment Team
Location: Ely (East Cambridgeshire – hybrid working)
Pay Rate: PAYE £31.22 per hour | Umbrella £40.52 per hour (capped umbrella equivalent noted £39ph)
Contract Type: Temporary (Agency)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: 09:00 – 17:30
Start Date: 08 June 2026
End Date: 11 September 2026
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (2–3 days per week office-based)
Seven Resourcing is recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join a fast-paced Children’s Assessment Team. The service is focused on delivering timely, high-quality assessments for children, young people, and families, ensuring effective safeguarding and positive outcomes.
This role involves working in a dynamic environment where cases progress quickly and multi-agency collaboration is central to decision-making and intervention planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake robust statutory assessments under Children’s Social Care frameworks
- Complete timely initial and core assessments for children and families
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies including health, education, and police
- Identify safeguarding risks and ensure appropriate protection planning is in place
- Produce clear, analytical reports and maintain accurate case records
- Contribute to strategy discussions, meetings, and case conferences
- Manage a varied caseload with tight deadlines and changing priorities
- Ensure all interventions are child-focused and outcome-driven
- Support families to access appropriate services and early help interventions
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Significant experience within Children’s Social Care, ideally assessment or safeguarding teams
- Strong knowledge of statutory frameworks and child protection processes
- Ability to manage fast-paced caseloads and work under pressure
- Excellent assessment, report writing, and analytical skills
- Strong multi-agency working experience
- Commitment to delivering timely and high-quality social work practice
