We are seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualifying experience in working with safeguarding enquiries and leading safeguarding investigations. In Middlesbrough, our Access Safeguarding Team operates an assessment and safeguarding front door. This post is dedicated to managing safeguarding enquiries, working within a cohesive team which consists of a Team Manager, two Principal Practitioners, six Social Workers, three Safeguarding Outreach Workers, and two Safeguarding Administrators. We are committed to safeguarding in Middlesbrough and embrace the philosophy that safeguarding is everybody’s business. Our work is underpinned by the policies and procedures of the Teeswide Safeguarding Adults Board.

What you will do:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of adults' needs to identify safeguarding concerns.
• Lead safeguarding investigations, ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks.
• Collaborate with various professionals including health care providers, law enforcement, and community organisations to develop safeguarding plans.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on safeguarding procedures and best practices.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of safeguarding activities and produce reports for team managers.
• Actively participate in team meetings to review cases and share best practices.
